Be Empty No More
A message for those who are empty
You helpless, lost, incomplete
You long for abundance and plenty
Yet nothing your need seems to meet
You who long for attention
desperate for the praise of your friends
You who cringe at dejection
On others your fullness depends
You who live in self hatred
obsessed with all you've done wrong
Crippled by sins you've commited
You think your soul's void belongs
You who are desperate for pleasure
Eagerly seeking a high
You've made perversion your treasure
But your blackness consumes you inside
You who are longing for friendship
And think no one cares for your soul
Joyless you trudge through each hardship
Through true love you hope to be whole
You who are lacking, unhappily searching
to fill up how empty you feel
You who think life is eat, sleep, and working
Who's soul starves for a spiritual meal
Come know the filling of the fullness of God
Your heart will be empty no more
You are in Christ, the firstborn of all
Lacking nothing, complete to the core
All who are searching for fullness and joy
Come die alongside this Christ
And in his new life, you will be reborn
Restored to abundance of life
All the defeated come to the Cross
Where Jesus has victory won
There he erased your debt and your loss
Paid for by God's only Son
Approval from others, success, power, and love
Are empty and lead to the grave
But you can be filled with Jesus himself
His fullness through his cross he gave
