Jesus + Nothing = Everything

Yes, the title of this sermon is stolen from the title of a new book by Tullian Tchividjain, based on his Colossian teaching series. But it was just too perfect for this particular message to pass up. Paul has already reminded the Colossian believers of the fullness of Christ, and shown them that through their union with Him in death and resurrection, they too, are no longer empty, but gloriously complete. However, they are being tempted to add to the "Jesus+Nothing=Everything" equation.
We do the same thing. We want to add our own religious efforts or experiences to feel complete. But we already have all we need in Christ. Our joy and hope is not to move on from the gospel, but to be rooted in Christ, our salvation. Find out why Jesus + Nothing really does equal everything.
