A Broken Creation
We were created by God to love him and live with him. But we are broken, wicked, and helpless, deserving of judgement and in need of redemption because we have chosen to love and pursue everything but God.
We don't just do the wrong things, we want the wrong things.
A Pursuing Creator
Still, God has been working in all of history to make his name great by rescuing people from sin to himself and reversing the effects of our rebellion against him.
We could not make our way back to God, even if we wanted to, so He came after us.
A Gracious Redeemer
This plan was accomplished when God entered our world as Jesus, who lived perfectly as we should have lived, and died the death we should have died, taking our punishment. When he rose again as King, He defeated death and became the first and central piece of a new, unbroken creation.
We cannot save ourselves or satisfy ourselves. Jesus does both.
A Redeemed Creation
Jesus' cross work and powerful resurrection signal the arriving of his redemption and offer true life. Because of Jesus alone we can love God and live with God as we were created to do. He took our death and punishment, so we get his life. Those who repent of their rebellion and acknowledge Jesus as King over every part of life are made a part of his new creation to enjoy and proclaim its redemption message to a broken, dying, and wicked world.
We are accepted by God because of Jesus our King, to live as his happy and humble servants.
