What is Redemption?
Redemption is the purchase back of something that was lost or stolen, the restoration of something broken to a place of wholeness and purpose. Bondage and brokenness is all around us: personal and social, environmental and psychological, cultural and racial, internal and external. God is at work in history to restore every form of brokenness to its place of wholeness and purpose, to buy back what was lost because of our rebellion against him. First and foremost He is redeeming us, working to overthrow our wickedness, that we might once again know fellowship with him. God is redeeming, rescuing, and restoring people into a new creation.
